Berlusconis Fininvest Denies Report of Plan to Sell AC Milan



Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's holding company Fininvest SpA denied a newspaper report he is planning to sell a stake in soccer club AC Milan.

"Fininvest denies onc! e again that there is a plan to sell a stake in AC Milan," the company said in an e-mailed statement today.

Italian daily la Repubblica reported today that Berlusconi proposed the sale of a stake in AC Milan to one of Libya's sovereign wealth funds during a visit to the country last week.

The prime minister discussed the possible sale with Libya's central bank and two other institutions, the daily said. The soccer team may be worth between 600 million euros ($856 million) and 800 million euros, according to la Repubblica.

Berlusconi is under pressure from his oldest children, Marina and Piersilvio, to sell the soccer business, the newspaper reported.
