Du Toit gets her ticket to Beijing

Capetonian Natalie du Toit has qualified for the Beijing Olympics (not the Paralympics).
Du Toit was an exceptional swimmer before she lost her leg in a road accident in 2001, but since then she's never looked back. Now she'll be able to fulfill her dream of participating at the Olympic Games.

She qualified by finishing fourth in the 10 kilometre race at the Open Water World Championships in Seville, Spain. The 24-year-old clocked a time of 2 hours 2 minutes and 7.8 seconds, only 5.1 seconds behind winner Larisa Ilchenko of Russia.

The 10 kilometer open water swim will make its Olympic debut at the Beijing Games in August.
